A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
